Insurance and Medical Bill Counseling

Medical bills and health insurance issues can be very confusing especially if one is trying to deal with them while trying to cope with an illness. In response to this need, the Council for Older Adults continues to offer a free service for Delaware County seniors who may need assistance choosing Medicare supplement and drug plans straightening out confusion with medical bills and insurance claims.

Insurance Assistance Program

 Trained Medicare Insurance Specialists can assist you over the phone or in person with:

  • Understanding Medicare Part A (Hospital Insurance)
  • Part B (Medical Insurance)
  • Part D (Drug Coverage)
  • Medicare Supplement Plans
  • Extra help with your Medicare Part B or Part D premiums and deductibles. 

Medical Bill Assistance

Acting as advocates, our trained insurance specialists are here to answer questions, resolve problems and assist you with complicated and often confusing medical bills.  We can explain:

  • Medicare Summary Notices

  • Discuss suspected Medicare Fraud

  • Other bills you may have questions about

While the Council does not pay medical bills, this service has routinely saved local senior thousands of dollars by straightening out the confusion, identifying and fixing errors.
