Council for Older Adults’ Board Seeks Nominations

The Nominating Committee of the Council for Older Adults Board of Directors is seeking interested candidates to fill board vacancies beginning in 2008. The three year terms will run through the end of 2010.

The Council for Older Adults is the nonprofit organization responsible for planning, developing, coordinating and providing services for older adults and their families throughout Delaware County.  

The Council’s volunteer Board of Directors establishes board policy, approves budgets, oversees finances, evaluates the executive director and ensures that the organization is addressing its’ mission of service to the older population of Delaware County. The Board of Directors meets no less than 10 times each year and board members are also expected to actively participate on at least one board committee and volunteer at various special events. The board typically meets at noon on the fourth Tuesday of each month.

The board is seeking a diverse mix of representatives and it is not required that you be an older adult to serve. Those interested in serving and providing board leadership for a dynamic organization which serves  the rapidly growing local older population should request an application by contacting the Council.
