Council for Older Adults Needs Volunteers to Shovel Snow for Older County Residents

FOR  IMMEDIATE  RELEASE

Date: January 22, 2008

Council for Older Adults Needs Volunteers to Shovel Snow for Older County Residents

Whenever there is a snowfall, the Council for Older Adults is in desperate need of volunteers to shovel or plow driveways of homebound older adults in the Delaware County.  This service is needed so the meals provided by the Delaware County Senior Nutrition (Meals-on-Wheels) Program can be delivered.  Older adults may also be unable to go the grocery store, medical appointments or run necessary errands if they are not able to safely get out of their driveways.

This volunteer opportunity would be on an as needed basis when we have the snowfall that usually comes in the January and February months.  For more information or to volunteer please call Amy Brown at the Council for Older Adults at (740) 363-6677.
