Financial Information

The Council for Older Adults relies on a variety of funding sources, which provide the means for us to insure that we will continue to be able to meet the needs of our growing local older population. These sources include: our local aging services levy, federal and state grants, fees, donations, fundraisers, investments and the work of more than 700 dedicated volunteers.

All of these funding sources play a crucial role in the success of our organization. Each is like a piece of a puzzle and without any one piece the puzzle would not be complete. Your financial support is needed, encouraged and greatly appreciated. The Council for Older Adults is a 501c (3) nonprofit organization recognized by the IRS. Gifts of cash or property are tax deductable. All donors receive a letter acknowledging each donation and unless otherwise requested, donors are also acknowledged by name in the Annual Report of the Council for Older Adults.

Each year the Board of Directors of the Council employs a CPA firm to conduct an independent outside audit of all of the finances of the Council for Older Adults. This audit is done in conformity with Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP) and the resulting audit is overseen and approved by the State of Ohio Auditor's Office.

We are proud to report that the Council has never in our history had an audit finding and has received 17 consecutive clean independent financial audits - the best possible audit outcome.
