"The mission of the Council for Older Adults is to improve the quality of life of the older population of Delaware County by being a catalyst to develop, sustain and continually improve a comprehensive, coordinated community based system of effective services and opportunities."

Based on the belief that the Council's efforts should promote and enhance the greatest possible level of individual choice, independence and dignity, the Council for Older Adults shall seek to achieve it's mission by pursuing the following broad goals:

• To lead an ongoing campaign to better understand the needs of Delaware County's older population and to raise community awareness of these needs and issues effecting older adults;
• To promote the utilization of the skills, talent, knowledge and energy of older adults for the betterment of Delaware County;
• To foster and coordinate the development of a more effective and efficient service delivery network for older adults in Delaware County;
• To improve the knowledge of and access to needed community services for older adults in Delaware County;
• To develop new services and expand existing services throughout all of Delaware County, as needed.
