Ombudsman
This is an advocacy program for the rights of consumers of long-term care. The Long-Term Care Ombudsman works on behalf of individuals receiving services or care from in-home services, nursing homes, adult care facilities, or residential care such as assisted living facilities. They provide advise on selecting services or facilities, and the rights of and service information for consumers. They are legally authorized to investigate complaints, intervene on behalf of a client or resident, and negotiate solutions. Staff can also make referrals and provide information as appropriate.The Long-Term Care Ombudsman program is operated by Catholic Social Services under contract with the Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging.
