ERRANDS VOLUNTEER

 

Volunteer will serve as a community resource to run errands for the older adult population.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must enjoy and respect older adults and be willing to work at building a positive relationship with the older adult.

  • Must recognize and respect the high level of personal responsibility involved in a volunteer/older adult relationship.

  • Must be patient, understanding and committed to volunteering with an older adult.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbal and written.

  • Must be physically able to perform duties required of the task.

  • Must pass specific background checks.

  • Ability to drive and have access to a reliable automobile.  Drivers must maintain automobile insurance in an amount established by the Council for Older Adults.

DUTIES:

  • Conduct errands for older adults in the Delaware County area including but not limited to; DME, Ensure, personal care items, picking up prescriptions, and other duties as needed.

  • Complete and submit all documentation for each client as required by the Social Work Supervisor.

  • Document interaction with clients in paper formats.

  • Comply with established policies and procedures of the Council for Older Adults.

TRAINING REQUIREMENT: Volunteer Mission Vision and Values Orientation

TIME REQUIREMENT: Flexible hours, based upon need of the client and the availability of the volunteer.

REPORTS TO: Coordinator of Volunteers or Community Services Manager
