WINE TASTING VOLUNTEER

Volunteers will make sure the event runs smoothly and that the visitors enjoy an evening out, while supporting the cause of the Council for Older Adults by donating funds to the Committee to Save Senior Services.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to get along with others.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to greet and direct visitors.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and verbally and to follow directions, often over walkie-talkies.
  • Ability to understand the rules and regulations set down by the Board of Elections concerning documentation of funds for a non-profit political campaign fund raiser and the Department of Liquor Control concerning the sale of alcoholic beverages.
  • Other duties as assigned could include, handling cash, making change, recording monetary transactions and traffic/parking.
DUTIES:

  • Be knowledgeable of the purpose of fund-raising for the Committee to Save Senior Services.
  • Be knowledgeable recording procedures all attendance and monetary transactions as required by the Board of Elections of Delaware County.
  • Comply with established policy and procedures of the Council for Older Adults, the Committee to Save Senior Services and the Delaware County Board of Elections.
  • Other duties could include directing traffic, assisting in door prize drawing, silent auction and arts sales procedures and set-up and tear down of all decorating and displays.
TRAINING REQUIREMENT: Volunteer Mission, Vision and Values Orientation

TIME FRAME: Hours of the event are usually 5-9 pm on a specific date in September.

REPORTS TO: Outreach Assistant or Coordinator of Volunteers
