COA Outreach

The outreach department manages the Council's print and electronic marketing, public relations and production of special events. Our staff of four outreach professionals uses a variety of methods to carry the Council's mission to the Delaware County community.

Special Events Sponsorships

The outreach department coordinates and hosts a number of special events each year, some which are available by invitation only and others which are open to the public and attended by hundreds or thousands of people. At most of our public events, we offer sponsorship opportunities to local business and organizations who would like to offer their support in exchange for recognition. Throughout the year, sponsorship opportunities are available ranging from just $100 to several thousand dollars. Without the support of our sponsors, none of these events would be possible. Sponsorship support is greatly needed and greatly appreciated.

	The Committee to Save Senior Services holds one annual fundraiser each year: the Scarlet & Gray Soiree. This upscale OSU tailgate party draws hundreds of guests from the Delaware and Powell areas for delicious food, music, live and silent auctions, and entertainment. Local businesses may participate by donating auction items or through event sponsorships.
	In 2012 the Council will host its twentieth annual Summer Festival. The Festival is enjoyed by over 2,000 guests each year who come to for the pig and corn roast and all of the fun that the Festival has to offer. Sponsorships are available from $100 and up, and numerous promotional benefits accompany various Summer Festival sponsorships this event is very widely publicized throughout Central Ohio.
	Every year, the Council hosts a free insurance seminar for older adults, caregivers, or anyone interested in Medicare insurance. A free Continental breakfast is provided, and the breakfast is sponsored by a local healthcare company or another local business aimed at serving older adults.
	Senior Health & Safety Day features workshops, exhibits, demonstrations, and free health screenings by various companies, government agencies and nonprofit organizations throughout Central Ohio which are interested in keeping seniors safe in all aspects of their lives.
