Senior Health & Safety Day Scheduled for October 27

Mark your calendar and plan to attend the second annual Senior Health & Safety Day at the Center for Older Adults on Thursday, October 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  This event, presented by The Inn at Olentangy Trail and organized by Senior Citizens Inc., will feature exhibits and demonstrations by various companies, government agencies and nonprofit organizations throughout Central Ohio which are interested in keeping seniors safe in all aspects of their lives.  A number of free workshops will be available and may include topics such as diabetes management, arthritis, identity theft, self defense, Tai Chi, memory and first aid/CPR, all geared toward informing and protecting older adults.  (Workshop themes may be subject to change.)

In addition to exhibits and workshops, Senior Health & Safety Day will offer a number of free health screenings for those age 60 and older.  Screenings may include speech and hearing, blood sugar, blood pressure, spinal screenings, and memory screenings.  And in addition, the Kroger Pharmacy will provide flu shots.

Workshop seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
